Stuff Needed
modeling clay or salt dough
rolling pin
kitchen tools
layer cake pan
pie tins or other sturdy containers
plastic tablecloth
cookie sheet
Set up an imaginary bakery by covering the table with a plastic cloth and providing your young baker with a variety of interesting kitchen tools to create clay or salt dough cakes, pies, and cookies.
Use a cookie sheet to dry the clay or salt dough food that your child wants to keep.
Invite your child to have a luncheon or tea party with a doll or teddy bear using the "baked goods" your child has made.
Carefully check the items you use from your kitchen to be sure they are safe for your child to handle.
It is a good idea to use kitchen items that are old or easily replaced in the event that something is damaged or destroyed.
